HOW DID IT ALL START?
Once upon a time, a long time
ago (1988), a Prince (new director in Glendale USD) ran
out of commodities. The Prince, who had previously worked
for L.A. Unified had never had this problem before. When
the Prince called CNFDD he was told that certain commodities
could not be given to him because he was a stepchild (not
a direct diversion agency).
The Prince looked for a beautiful princess to kiss to make
the problem go away. But the beautiful princess's (the big
8 and PINCO) had no desire to change the invitations to
the ball (change the status quo). The Prince, who did not
take rejection well, decided to build his own castle.
He invited princes and princesses from the surrounding townships
(the San Gabriel Valley Co-Op) and with the help of their
fairy Godmother (Maria Bakakshin) built an enchanted castle
where some of the deliveries came from the state and some
were direct diverted. The Stepmother (the State) decided
that this was too hard for her and would make the Prince
and his idea go away. Instead, the stubborn Prince got help
from a knight in shining armor (Dave Johns) and set up an
alternative delivery system using local kingdom merchants.
The idea spread throughout the land and many princes and
princesses (other directors) asked the Prince in Glendale
to help them start their own fairy tales. And all their
dreams came true. Over time, even the Stepmother became
a good friend and they now work hand-in-hand in the kingdom
of commodities.
Then one day a wealthy Baron offered the Prince and his
Knight a heap of gold and bought all the enchanted castles
and stole the prince from Glendale. But alas,
the wealthy Baron ran out of gold and paid the prince to
take back his enchanted castles, for you see, they were
truly enchanted (only the Prince could make them work).
So with the help of his squire (Jerry Green), his new knight (Phil Wussow) and
the ladies of the land (Pam, Gail, Patricia, Edie and Toni) the castles
are safe and everyone continues to live happily ever after.
